Oak View Elementary pits fifth graders, staff in basketball battle

Fifth grade students at Oak View Elementary School took to the basketball court April 10 for some friendly competition with the school’s staff. Also included on the staff roster was a special guest in Maple Grove Middle School principal Xavier Reed, who will be the students’ new principal when they begin middle school this fall. 

“As a community, we wanted to create a new tradition for our fifth graders to look forward to,” said Oak View’s principal Ryan Gibbs. “Our north star at Oak View is to create experiences for kids to experience pride and joy, and we feel we accomplished both with our first-ever fifth grade student versus staff basketball game.”

The final score was 26-18 in favor of the staff.
